Hill Giant

Here's a little pic I did during lunch.  It's of a rather outdoorsy hill giant spying on the fauna that inhabit his forest dwelling.

Hope you like it.

Been Too Long

I've been moving slowly these days and my posts have also suffered.  Strangely, I feel like this guy.

A Bat

A Bat

Longear Sunfish

My coworker asked if I could draw his favorite fish.

Plains Dwarf

I decided to try and give the stereotypical dwarf a new facade.  I thought about the exact opposite of living under miles of stone and earth in perpetual dark and decided a dwarf living out on the open plains would be a new sight.

A Warrior's Ghost

Just a quick sketch at work.

(Sorry about the bad pic.  I really need to get that scanner working.)

Tree Man

I decided to give a Tolkien Ent a try.

Maced

It's a mace.  I think it looks pretty neat.  So I posted it.

Gromb

Here is a creature I came up with a few minutes ago.

The name may not be final, but the premise is of a pig like omnivore with coarse hair, a strong body, tough hooves, and intimidating tusks.  This three/four-foot-tall creature can be found roaming across the world.

Clever Girl

I drew this up at work today.

In my mind the guy on the ground grabbing for his sword is a rookie adventurer whose cocky attitude have led him into danger.  Or his pet raptor is hungry.

Nikrat, stone dragon

I've always liked the idea of using a dragon in an RPG setting.  I mean, an entire franchise has been built around a game system that uses the scaly beasts in its name.  But for many GM's the idea of pitting their low-level PC's against a dragon could be a recipe for a Total Party Kill (TPK).

Introduce Nikrat.  This pic may be hard to discern, but hopefully with my description you'll see what I meant to accomplish.

Nikrat is an adolescent dragon who like other dragons had plans to be great, powerful, and owner of a fantastic hoard.  Setting out Nikrat headed for the small town of New Darlbrooke (So named for a rather large accident over a century ago that destroyed 'Old' Darlbrooke.), a hub for magic-users of all kinds.

Nikrat had hoped to lay siege to the town, drive away all of it's magical occupants, and claim the myriad of enchanted treasures for himself thus making quite a strong deposit in his new hoard.

However the inexperienced dragon bit off more that he could chew and was quickly defeated by New Darlbrooke's small army of wizards.  Though powerful, the wizards weren't evil and instead of destroying the dragon decided to entrap and ultimately humiliate him.

Magnon a powerful elder wizard ultimately came up with the means of disposing Nikrat.  With the help of four other wizards, Magnon was able to cast a powerful spell turning the dragon into a monolith of stone.

Nikrat now stands at the center of Magnon's elaborate garden, a silent (yet still sentient) decoration.

Recently the five members of wizards that had placed the spell on Nikrat have started to turn up dead.  Witnesses have said small-shadowy figures had been seen fleeing the scene of the crimes.  Now only two members remain alive and while the remaining wizards haven't made a connection to the deaths of their comrades and the trapped dragon, there have been major ramifications on the spell cast on Nikrat.

Older Potter

I started drawing a generic magic-user but instead he morphed to a character that looks a lot like an older Harry Potter

By the way, on his hip is a quiver of wands... which equals awesome.

Grimble the Troll

I drew this guy at work over my lunch hour.

I'd like to use Grimble for a sidetrek quest.  His story so far is that he recently took out a band of traveling dwarfs making their way to a neighboring mine.  Afterward Grimble took ownership of the head dwarfs enchanted axe and strapped it to a long pole.  He also wears the remnants of the dwarfs armor; his flattened helm adorns his left arm, while his shield protects his left hand.

Also, I drew Grimble covered in scars.  I figure since he's a troll his regenerative powers are constantly being put to use.  I like the idea that even though they heal from their wounds the scars remain, kinda like badges of honor.

Hope y'all like it.

Webstalker Clan Rider

So here is a member of the Webstalker Clan.  It's little goblin looks ready to pin some pesky adventurers.

(Sorry the pic is sideways.  I guess it's appropriate considering spiders can walk dpwn walls.)

Shekral the Spider

So I've started brainstorming a little for an RPG I want to run with my buddies using the Old School Hack system.  So as far as posts they will most likely be about that.

Anyway, this lovely looking arachnid is the main antagonist for an introductory quest for my level 1 players.  Her name is Shekral, and is about the size of Shelob from LoTR.  On her eye isn't an eye-patch, it's a magic gemstone that used to belong to the Orc that rode her into battle.

Along with giant spider and her brood, there will also be a horde of goblins from the Webstalker Clan that have become new spider riders.

Hope y'all like it.

Here We Go Again

It has been some times since I've blogged.  Anyway, I'll be using this site to primarily post my drawings so that in hopes someone may see them and want to give me money to make more.  :-)
